Applying to FAST is not difficult, but small mistakes in preferences, documents, or test-date selection can create problems later. This page walks you through the application process step by step so you know what to do before submitting your form.

Step 1 — Create Your Application Account

Register on the central admissions portal at nu.edu.pk/Admissions/HowToApply. Make sure to use a stable email address and phone number that you actively check—all official correspondence from the university lands here.

Critical Core Identifier: The moment your profile registration is authorized, you will be issued a unique ARN (Application Reference Number). Write this down immediately and save it safely. The ARN is your primary account tracking handle—every single manual query, support ticket, or portal glitch resolution with the university administration requires this number. Without it, tracking your records manually is nearly impossible.

Step 2 — Choose Programs and Campuses (Preference Ordering)

You list your desired programs and campuses in order of preference. This ordering structure is critical because FAST checks your aggregate score against your choice hierarchy:

First Preference

FAST grants your first preference automatically if your aggregate score clears its cutoff boundary condition.

Lower Preference

If your score clears a lower preference but not your first choice, you are accepted into that alternative choice with the status marked as "Eligible."

Denied Status

If your total calculation fails to clear the closing numbers for any of your specified choices, your application status is marked as "Denied."

Order matters: place your most-preferred program first, but limit it strictly to campuses you would genuinely attend. Being marked "Eligible" into a lower preference choice still binds you to that selection track. For SAT stream applicants, make sure your scores are transferred officially using the SAT Institution Code 4575.

Step 3 — Upload Required Documents

FAST admits students conditionally pending final academic results. Your seat is officially locked down once your final passing result card is issued, uploaded to the portal, and meets standard program baselines.

Step 4 — Pay the Online Processing Fee

Once your application details are complete, pay the processing fee through the designated methods provided inside the portal. For the 2026 cycle, the official admission processing fee is set at Rs. 3,000. Please note that this fee is entirely non-refundable.

Keep your digital payment receipt safe—you will need to input or refer to the transaction reference identifier to unlock your test schedule window.

Step 5 — Select Your NU Test Sitting

For the 2026 admissions cycle, the formal online application portal timeline closes on June 26, 2026. The actual NU Test sittings take place from June 29 to July 10, 2026. FAST allows you to self-select your test date within the registration system once your processing fee clears.

Step 6 — Track Results and the Merit Chart

FAST does not publish a standard ranked merit list containing student serial numbers. Instead, it publishes a Selected / Eligible / Denied status chart matching every campus-and-program intersection inside your dashboard.

Any specific "closing merit" numbers floating around online on social media or forums are unofficial reconstructions built by students from self-reported data. Treat them purely as estimates, not as hard facts.
